Graphic Designer

Brand identity designer in Kyoto, 18 years in the craft. My studio builds full identity systems out of long conversations with founders, and they're made to last through leadership changes, reorgs and rebrands. I trained in a Kyoto print shop before moving to screens, and it still shows: I think in planes, hard shadows and very few colours, the same way the cobalt wall in my portrait does. I don't run a big-agency show. I always go in the same order: wordmark first, then colour, type, motion and guidelines. It all ships as editable Figma libraries your in-house team will actually use, with Latin and Japanese type set side by side. Recent work includes Novion, Keystone and Parallax identity systems. Design Mark and Typeface Guild Merit; Folio Magazine named me one of its "Designers to Watch" in 2022.
